The Muan Tombing led ATSUM has expressed doubt about timely completion of construction works of 39 newly upgraded high schools under RMSA and undertaken by the Engineering Wing of Education (S) dept due to alleged illegal deduction given in the work order.
Speaking to reporters today at its Nagaram office, Information secretary of the students' body, Micah Kamei said that the Centre has sanctioned a huge amount of money for the construction of class rooms, science lab, office, principal's office, computer room, library, toilet and art and culture hall for 39 newly upgraded schools in the hill and valley districts.
Micah said that ATSUM received complains about unnecessary deduction of the fund from concerned office which delayed the timely completion of the construction works.
Saying that non completion of school buildings due to misappropriation of fund or sub-standard quality of building due to excessive deduction of fund is neither desirable nor tolerable, ATSUM demanded clarification from the authority concerned in this regard at the earliest for the overall well being of the State.
While also pointing out that the CM had already given his assurance to improve infrastructure of schools in the hill districts, Micah questioned if the CM is concerned to keep his promise.
He further said that the students' body would submit a representation to the Education Minister in this regard.
