Photo exhibition begins

A five-day photo exhibition themed 'Manipur Through Ph Santosh's Lens' organised by M/s Lens Films has been inaugurated jointly by the Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam and All Manipur Working Journalists' Union president Wangkhemcha Shyamjai at Lamyanba Shanglen today.
Having assessed 1100 snapshots of senior photo-journalist Ph Santosh put on display at the exhibition, Gaikhangam in his address as the chief guest said apart from being a challenging job images captured through the lens often plays an important role in helping law enforcement agencies crack a particular case.

Along with serving as the evidence, photographs enables one to recall cherished moments as well as provide an opportunity for the viewers to introspect on the prevailing situation, expressed the Deputy CM.
On the second day tomorrow, a panel discussion on 'Photo journalists and Manipur today' would be organised while on February 3 a spot essay writing competition for class VIII to XII standard students would be held.
