District level Youth Convention held

A one-day district level Youth Convention organised by Nehru yuva Kendra, Imphal East district was held today at Lamyanba shanglen, palace Compound with Imphal East Zila Parishad adhyakshya K Tombi Singh, Parishad member T Itobi Singh and NYKS, Imphal Zone Zonal Director J Ruivah gracing the event as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Taking note of various vocational training courses conducted periodically by the NYK, Tombi Singh exuded confidence that along with facilitating the educated unemployed youths live a respectable life NYK's endeavours would promote cultural integrity and strengthen age-old relationship amongst the indigenous communities.
In his brief address, J Ruivah informed that NYK would take all possible measures to set up a common training complex to enable youth of the State gain experience in diverse fields.
Members of Paragon Club cum Information Centre, Khurai Tinsid Road were awarded Rs 10,000 cash and citation as an acknowledgement of their youth welfare and community development activities.
Sports items were also handed over to functionaries of 40 youth organisations.
As a part of the convention, Functional Manager (Handicraft) of Commerce and Industries Department S Biren Singh spoke on the topic 'Role of Youth for Socio Economic Development', while Globizs managing director Y Roshinikumar deliberated on 'Role of Youth for Community Development' .
