International Yoga Day observed all over State

Bishnupur, June 21 2017: As in other parts of the world, the 3rd International Yoga Day was observed all over Manipur with all the districts celebrating the day by organising different events and programmes besides demonstrating the art of Yoga.

32 Battalion CRPF, Komkeirap Loktak project observed the International Yoga Day at the Battalion complex under the leadership of the Commandant officer SH Rajgopal.

The CO and jawans along with students of Ningthoukhong Higher Secondary School and Gill Gal English School, Loktak project participated in the Yoga event.

Thambal Marik college, Oinam also celebrated the day at the meeting hall of the college where Principal O Kullabidhu, secretary of the school's governing body W David Singh and Economics Department HOD K Muhin attended as dignitaries.

Meanwhile, BJP Nambol Mandal under the supervision of BJP Bishnupur district Committee observed the International Yoga Day at Nambol Khoiriphaba indoor stadium.

The day was also observed by Law college, Oinam at the auditorium of the college in the presence of Principal I Jugeshwor Singh.

NYK, Bishnupur observed the day at Kyamba Ningshing Shanglen, Bishnupur Municipal Council.

MLA of Kumbi AC S Bira and ex-Minister N Mangi Singh attended a Yoga programme organised at Kumbi, reports our correspondent.

Meanwhile, a press release issued by Manager of NHPC Limited stated that the 3rd International Yoga Day was celebrated at the office of Chief Engineer in- charge, Loktak Power Station and Power House, Leimatak.

More than 90 officials and their family members performed Yoga.

Churachandpur: The 3rd International Day of Yoga was observed this morning at the auditorium of Peace ground, Tuibong, Churachandpur district. The event was organised by district administration, Churachandpur in collaboration with district police, NYK, Bharat Swabhiman Trust and Patanjali Yog Samiti, Churachandpur. Speaking at the occasion, Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur Shyamlal Poonia emphasized the importance of Yoga in one's life.

He said, "Yoga is a way of living as it increases our endurance just by inhaling and exhaling air".

He also lauded the organisers for hosting a successful event.

SP, Churachandpur Rakesh Balwal spoke on the importance of Yoga and stated that Yoga is a good exercise to maintain healthy living.

Around 150-200 participants performed Yoga with instructors.

The day was also observed by BSF, Churachandpur at its Subsidary Training Centre where IG of BSF, Churachandpur SR Ojha inaugurated the day and later participated in the event.

1200 BSF personnel and their family members, 150 school children from Covenant school and Kendra Vidyalaya, Churachandpur participated in the event.

Jiribam: In connection with the worldwide observation of 3rd International Yoga Day, Jiribam also observed the day in different parts of the district.

HRDI, Jiribam, Mahila Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Jiribam, Meira Club and Punsi Kanba Yoga Centre, Chingdong Leikai jointly organised the day at the community hall of Chingdong Leikai, Jiribam today.

Meanwhile, the day was also celebrated at Sorok Athingbi community hall by Mahila patanjali Yoga Samiti, Sorok Athingbi.

Headmaster of Sorok Athingbi High School A Tejmani Singh, JDO president Mutum Hemanta and social worker M Gopal Singh were seated on the dais as dignitaries.

In the meantime, Nature Cure and Yoga hospital, Kongba with 37 AR, Kadamtala, Jiribam and CWA Jiribam, under the sponsorship of Central Council for Research in Yoga and Neuropathy, Ministry of AYUSH, also celebrated the International Yoga Day at the auditorium of Jiribam Government Higher Secondary School.

Kakching: Kha Manipur Yoga and Nature Cure Association, Kakching in collaboration with 8 MR , Leikun, Chandel celebrated International Yoga Day at the indoor stadium of 8 MR Leikun.

A 21 day free Yoga camp which was organised under the supervision of Central Council for Research in Yoga and Neuropathy, Ministry of Ayush concluded today.

8 MR Commanding officer M Rajen Singh, Kha Manipur Yoga and Nature Cure Association, Kakching chief functionary Dr Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Chandel Dr Romi Ngouru attended the event as dignitaries among others.

Meanwhile, District Yoga Training and Research Association (DYTRA) head office, Kakching observed the day at Mahadev Mandap, Kakching Leikol.

NSS unit of Kha Manipur College, Kakching also celebrated International Yoga Day at the college campus. With great enthusiasm, 39 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 28 Sector Assam Rifles observed the 3rd International Yoga Day at HQ 28 sector, Kakching Garrison where 300 personnel including officers , JCOs, other officials and families took active participation.

The aim of the camp was to promote, encourage, popularize and standardize the practice of Yoga among Assam Rifles personnel and their families.

In another eventful day, Bharat Swabhiman Trust and Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Kakching, Mahila Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Kakching, Yuva Bharat and Kishan Seva Samiti, Kakching jointly organised a motor cycle rally to mark the observation of International Yoga Day.

The motor cycle rally was flagged of by Kakching police station 2nd OC from Kakching Martin High School ground.

The event was attended by Art and Culture Director Dr K Sushila Devi as chief guest, Art and Culture (retired) Commissioner Dr RK Nimai as president and Imphal Art College Principal Yumnam Nabachandra Singh as guest of honour.

Many participants also demonstrated Yoga at the multipurpose community hall, Kakching Mayai Leikai where MANIDCO and MANITRON Chairman Dr Radheshyam Yumnam, Bharat Swabhiman Trust Prabhari Manipur State Ksh Gopendro Singh attended the event as chief guest and president respectively.

Kangpokpi: The Indira Gandhi National Tribal University- Regional Campus Manipur (IGNTU-RCM) celebrated the 3rd International Yoga Day at the premises of the University in Makhan, Kangpokpi district.

The celebration was led by Director of the campus Professor Ramjeen Singh Thakur.

A press release issued by the Director of the campus stated that as a part of the celebration, a workshop cum demonstration session on Yoga was conducted by National Judge and Yoga instructor of Yoga Physique Institute and Studies W Ibungo Meetei.

Speaking as the chief guest of the session, Professor Ramjeevan elaborated on the importance of Yoga and the role of the University to spread this practice so that every individual could gain the benefit from it.

All teaching staff, non-teaching staff and research scholars also attended the event.

Thoubal : In observance of the International Yoga Day across the world, Thoubal district also observed the day at the community hall near Thoubal Achouba Keithel today.

Organised by International Yoga Celebration Committee, Thoubal, Thoubal Municipal Council Chairperson Th Shyamo, Councillors of ward no 8 and 10 W Sanathoi and H Jamuna respectively attended as dignitaries.

School children and local people also took part in the programme.

Participants demonstrated different Yoga postures along with the doctors and staff of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Neuropathy and Yogic Science, Ujire.

The BJP Thoubal district also observed the day at Thoubal Leiranthem Mandap headed by BJP Thoubal district president L Deben.

The day was observed by BJP Khangabok Mandal at its office in Khangabok.
