Blood donation, health camps conducted

As part of the Swachhta Action Plan 2024-25, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, organised a health camp at the Deaf and Mute School, Takyel Khongban, Imphal West today.
The initiative aimed to provide essential healthcare services to the students and staff of the institution, reinforcing the institute's commitment to community welfare and public health.
According to a release issued by RIMS, a dedicated team of doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals from RIMS provided comprehensive health check-ups, including general medical examinations, dental check-ups, vision screenings and awareness on hygiene and preventive healthcare to around 45 students.
The initiative sought to address the healthcare needs of differently-abled students and promote a culture of cleanliness and well-being.
The health camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and caregivers.
The medical team also provided necessary referrals for students requiring further medical attention at RIMS.
The event concluded with positive feedback from teachers, who expressed gratitude for the medical support and guidance provided.
Meanwhile, Lions Club of Imphal Greater, Lions International District 322-D in association with JNIMS Student Association organised a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp at JNIMS Blood Centre, Porompat on Friday.
It was the 35 th voluntary blood donation camp organised by Lions Club of Imphal Greater as part of its Signature Project.
Altogether, 80 units of blood were donated by doctors of JNIMS Hospital, members of JSA and Lions Club of Imphal Greater during the camp.
Moreover, Life Savers Manipur in collaboration with RDO College of Nursing, Lamshang; Lions Club of Imphal Ningol Collective and Indian Red Cross Society, Imphal West also organised a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp at RIMS Blood Bank, Imphal.
