Aggrieved employees of the Imphal Municipal Council (IMC) have decided to intensify their ongoing agitation, if their pending salary for the last 25 months, were not cleared at the earliest possible.
Addressing a press conference, convened by the Joint Co-ordination Committee of the Imphal Municipal Council Employees Association, Imphal Municipal Council Employees and Workers' Welfare and Imphal Municipal Employees' Union at the complex of the Council here today, Committee convenor Ph Chaoba Singh said denial of salaries for the last 25 months has caused untold miseries to the employees.
Demanding their pending salaries, the employees launched cease work strike since May 20 and as the IMC authority has not conceded to the demand, they have been staging protest demonstration inside the office complex of IMC, Chaoba explained, adding that the aggrieved employees would have no option but to intensify the ongoing agitation if their pending salaries for the last 25 months are not cleared at the earliest possible.
