Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrated

Bishnupur, April 13 2021: As a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration marking the 75th Anniversary of India's independence, a programme was held at INA Martyrs Memorial Complex at Moirang today organised by North East Zone Cultural Centre and Department of Art and Culture, Government of Manipur under the aegis of Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

The programme was attended by National Vice President Bharat Vikas Parishad North East, Professor Sinam Rajendra Singh, Officer on Special Duty (Delhi), Government of Manipur, Samurailatpam Premananda Sharma, Director of North East Zone Cultural Centre, Gouri Basu and Director of Art and Culture, Govt of Manipur, Ngangom Uttam Singh MCS as the presidium members.

As a part of the programme, traditional dances of various communities of Manipur and Thangta tactics were presented to the audience.

Speaking on the occasion, Ngangom Uttam Singh said patriotism has a different aspect nowadays where in being patriotic means striving for a progressive society with an ultimate aim for a developed and equal society for all.

During this process one should focus on achieving emotional integrity rather than physical integrity.

To achieve emotional integrity there should be love, respect and emotional connect among the various communities of the State and eventually it will lead to the path of physical integrity, he added.

He further stated that Manipur can be called Mini India as there are more than 40 communities with different dialects and traditions of their own.

Therefore he appealed for peace and harmony in the State overcoming petty conflicts among the communities and sought collective efforts for a unified society.
