Biren calls on PM, slew of Central BJP leaders

Imphal, July 28 2024: After more than a year of the violence erupting on May 3, 2023, Chief Minister N Biren finally met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed the Manipur issue for close to 25 minutes, said sources.

Though details are not available, sources said that Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh were present.

No officials, either from the State or Union Govt were present.

Biren also met Union Minister cum BJP president JP Nadda and party general secretary BL Santhosh at New Delhi today.

The meeting with JP Nadda deliberated on State's issues and initiatives taken up in Manipur.

"Called on Hon'ble Union Minister and BJP President J.P.Nadda Ji at New Delhi.

"The meeting deliberated on various crucial matters, including the ongoing peace efforts, infrastructure development and various initiatives taken up under the BJP Government, " the Chief Minister wrote on his Facebook wall.

About the meeting with BL Santhosh, the Chief Minister said, "Had a great interaction with Hon'ble BJP National General Secretary, Shri BL Santhosh Ji in New Delhi today.

"Inspired by his insights on a range of matters concerning the BJP's contri- butions in the growth and development of the Nation" .

In another post, N Biren said, "This month's Mann Ki Baat was special as I listened to Hon'ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi ji's reflections from Mukh-ya Mantri Parishad itself.

"It was an enlightening session on the efforts being put on the development of North East States under Hon'ble PM's visionary leadership" .

Notably, the Chief Minister had also met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on July 26 .
