Responding to the MLAs' pressure to install a popular Government in Manipur, BL Santosh once again assured that there will be a popular Government in the State soon.
On their arrival at Imphal International Airport at 11.50 am, BL Santosh and Dr Sambit Patra were received by BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda and other top office bearers of the party's State unit.
The two held a meeting with BJP MLAs at the party's office at Nityaipat Chuthek from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm .

A Sharda was also present at the meeting.
Out of the total 37 BJP MLAs, 29 attended the meeting while the seven MLAs from the Kuki-Zo community were absent.
MLA L Rameshwor (Keirao AC) stayed away from the meeting due to health problems.
During the meeting, the two BJP Central leaders spoke on strengthening the party so that the party scores a landslide victory in the next State Assembly election which is due in 2027 and retain power.
Claiming that BJP and NDA partners will emerge as runaway winners in the Bihar Assembly election, BL Santosh declared that a popular Government will be formed in Manipur soon as per the wishes of the MLAs and the people.
Some BJP MLAs told The Sangai Express that Kh Ibomcha (Lamlai AC), T Robindro (Thanga AC), P Brojen (Wangjing-Tentha AC), Th Radheshyam (Heirok AC), Md Ashab Uddin (Jiribam AC), S Rajen (Lamsang AC), K Robindro (Mayang Imphal AC), K Shyam (Langthabal AC), Kh Joykisan (Thangmeiband AC) and Dr S Ranjan (Konthoujam AC) pointed out the PR administration's failure to implement development programmes properly, bureaucratic officers' disregard of MLAs even to the extent of not picking up phones and the sheer lack of development in all spheres including road infrastructure.
People now want a popular Government and there is a strong pressure from BJP workers to form a popular Government, the MLAs said at the meeting.
They also highlighted the need to construct/repair roads in every Assembly segment and implement welfare programmes effectively ahead of the next State Assembly election.
Pointing out that the PR administration is still unable to float tenders and start construction of roads even though a huge amount has been sanctioned for the same under Rural Road Development, the MLAs urged the two BJP Central leaders to install a popular Government and let the popular Government take up development works including construction of roads without any further delay.
In response, BL Santosh stated that all efforts will be made to install a popular Government in Manipur.
One BJP MLA said that all the dilapidated roads of Manipur must be con-structed/repaired within the current working season.
The road development works cannot be done in the working season of 2026-27 because by then the election process will be in motion and the code of conduct will be in effect, the MLA said.
The BJP MLA said that people of both the hills and the valley have been suffering a lot and they want a popular Government urgently.
Assuring that a popular Government will be formed definitely, the BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) said that BJP will fight the next State Assembly election under the Chief Minister and Ministers of the popular Government.
There are many MLAs who are vying for the post of Chief Minister but only one person can be the Chief Minister, BL Santosh said.
Saying that there can be only 12 Ministers in the Council of Ministers including the Chief Minister, he stressed the need for Ministers to work in close coordination with all the MLAs.
BL Santosh also called upon all the BJP MLAs to work collectively towards strengthening the party in Manipur.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Dr S Ranjan said that the visit of BL Santosh and Dr Sambit Patra is primarily about strengthening the party.
He also exuded confidence that a popular Government will be formed after November 15 .
"Even though the BJP Central leaders have not given any definite date for the formation of a popular Government, we are confident that the BJP Central leaders will give nod to the formation of a popular Government soon," Dr Ranjan said.
However, Govindas Konthoujam refused to give any reply to a number of queries raised by media persons.
On the other hand, BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesman Kh Ibomcha claimed that the process of forming a popular Government is underway even though the BJP Central leaders are primarily here to restore peace and normalcy in Manipur, and strengthen the party.
On being asked when a popular Government may be formed at the latest, Ibomcha said they are confident that a popular Government will be formed before the current term of the President's Rule is extended.
Selection of a new leader is not a part of BL Santosh and Dr Sambit Patra's visit to the State.
The Centre will select a new leader at the time of Government formation, he said.
MLA RK Imo said that the BJP National leaders are here to initiate the process of forming a popular Government.
The party's National leaders have already started the process of forming a popular Government, he added.
T Robindro said he was told by the BJP Central leaders that a popular Government could not be formed immediately on account of certain technical problems.
Once these technical problems are resolved, there will be a popular Government in the State, Robindro said quoting by BL Santosh and Dr Sambit Patra.
Ex-Chief Minister N Biren said that the issues of IDPs and their hardship, dilapidated roads, National Highways and the suffering of the people were deliberated at length during the meeting with the two BJP Central leaders.
They also assured that a popular Government will be formed definitely soon, Biren said.
The meeting was joined by BJP office bearers after 3.30 pm.
The second session went on till around 5 pm and it focused on alleviating BJP's organisational strength.
Later, BJP MLAs and office bearers together held a commemorative event on the 150 years of Vande Mataram along with BL Santosh and Dr Sambit Patra.
At 6 pm, BL Santosh and Dr Sambit Patra met some intellectuals at Hotel Imphal and talked about the current situation of Manipur as well as on the formation of a popular Government.
This was followed by another meeting with NPP and NPF MLAs on the same matter of forming a popular Government.
The two BJP Central leaders also met Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh.
They will go to Churachandpur by helicopter tomorrow and talk with Kuki MLAs, intellectuals and BJP office bearers.
After returning from Churachandpur, they will go to Senapati by road.
At Senapati, they will hold talks with Naga village chiefs, intellectuals and the party's office bearers.
