Imphal, November 22 2023: State trio- Sagolshem Bhicky, Haobam Bushan and Senjam Ashwajit advanced into the men's singles semi-finals of the AITA 1 Lakh Men's Open Tennis Tournament hosted by IDTA here in Imphal.

Bhicky made it to the last four stage with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 beating of Heishnam Shanker in a quarter final match today.

Bushan then pulled off an easy 6-1, 6-0 win over Siddhanth Sastry of Karnataka in another quarter final match to set up a semi-final date with Bhicky.

Ashwajit in the meantime outlasted Hansh Kartikeyi of Telangana 6-2, 6-2 to set up semi-final date with Shaunak Chatterjee of West Bengal who eased past 6-1, 6-1 against compatriot Aritro Ghosh in another quarter final match.

Bushan-Shankar vs Brojen-Bhicky in men's doubles final.

It will be an all-Manipuri final clash in the doubles competition with Bushan-Shankar and Brojen-Bhicky pairs securing semi-final victories today.

The pair of Bushan-Shankar overcame Maharashtra -Karnataka pair of Azmeer and Dev 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) in a semi-final clash while Brojen and Bhicky combined well to seal an easy 6-1, 6-1 win over West Bengal-Telangana pair of Aritro and Hansh.
