Public urged to help ailing girl child

JNIMS Relief Committee has appealed to the public to extend help, for treatment of L Diviya (11), who is a victim of the ethnic violence.
Diviya hails from Leimaram and is presently undergoing treatment at JNIMS for kidney failure.
Addressing media persons at the conference hall of JNIMS medical superintendent, here, on Wednesday, JNIMS Relief Committee chairman Bon Khurai said that Diviya and her family members had to leave their house in Leimaram following the ethnic violence which broke out on May 3 last and they have been taking shelter in the relief camp opened at Leimaram ever since.
She was admitted to JNIMS on May 27 where she was found to have serious problems in both her kidneys.
Since then, JNIMS Relief Committee and JNIMS have been aiding her treatment by providing regular dialysis procedures.
Her father L Ningthem also passed away on August 27 following health issues, he said, Bon further informed that Diviya's family is facing serious financial constraints as her CMHT package is nearing expiration.
She will be able to renew her CMHT card only in April next year.
The committee is planning to crowd fund her treatment.
Moreover, JNIMS director Dr L Deben has informed that he will be providing around Rs 50,000 to Diviya for kidney transplant.
In addition, an amount of Rs 48,587 has been received from 59 individuals and three groups.
Any individual or group can extend monetary help through the Gpay number 9856152727 registered in the name of Thoidingjam Sunil Khuman, Bon conveyed.
