Christmas in CCpur limited to Church services

Unlike in the past, this year's Christmas celebration in Churachandpur district was totally mutted one with none of the church denominations celebrating in joyous manner and limited to only church services on the main day.
There was no feasting and no members of the church sung carol while the main day was limited to serving tea and snacks to church attendees with solemn worship service and preaching by pastors about the messages of the birth of Christ.
Complying with instructions from ITLF, no grandeur Christmas celebration was witnessed anywhere in the district as also no merry making.
A displaced person taking shelter at Youtn Hostel relief camp lamented about the wretched condition he had been subjected to live and cope up with the prevailing condition whether he likes it or not.
It is not even possible to think of going back to my village and celebrate Christmas as my home and hearth was destroyed on May 4, the displaced man named Satchang informed this correspondent.
He said that his fellow villagers too have been scattered here and there and not even think of celebrating Christmas in a joyous manner.
A girl named Lalam, an undergraduate student staying in another relief camp, had nostalgic feelings stating that her friends from different places used to visit her during Christmas celebrations in the past and had lovely time with full joy and merry making.
Being in the relief camp, it is not possible to think of meeting friends and singing together with friends, parents and relatives in joy, she said adding that this year's Christmas celebration was totally muted and low key.
