Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Tripura honours literateurs with memorial awards

Thoubal, January 19 2026: The annual award presentation ceremony of the Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Tripura was held on Sunday at Bhagat Singh Yuba Awaz Conference Hall, Agartala.

During the ceremony, 12 distinguished individuals were conferred various memorial awards in recognition of their contributions to Manipuri literature and culture.

The awards presented included the Ningthoukhongjam Chandrahas Ningsing Mana, RK Surendrajit-Shija Bidhu Ningsing Mana; Leihao-Tembi Ningsing Mana; N Dilip Kumar Ningsing Mana; Leisangthem Gokul Ningsing Mana; Keithellakpam Chandrakumar Ningsing Mana; Dr Bhupendra Ningsing Mana; Khoisnam Babudhan Ningsing Mana and Mayengbam Radhamohan Ningsing Mana, among others.

The award presentation ceremony was attended by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, Manipuri Language convenor Rajen Toijamba as chief guest; Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Tripura president Langonjam Birmangal as functional president; and MSPA president Dr Phuritsabam Biramani and retired ONGC office M Bibhash Kanti as guests of honour.
