VSS Khundrakpam AC suspends proposed stir

Village Volunteer Service (VSS), Khundrakpam AC, has suspended its proposed agitation for the time being, following the assurances given by the Chief Minister during a meeting held on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference today at Manipur Press Club, VSS Khundrakpam AC convenor Nongthombam Boby informed that a meeting was held yesterday at the Chief Minister's Secretariat between representatives of VSS, PDCC, Challengers' Youth Khundrakpam and Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
He shared that in the meeting, the CM assured them that necessary steps will be taken to resettle internally displaced people (IDP) of Leitanpokpi, Meirenpat and Dolaithabi at their original place.
"The CM assured that construction/ repair of houses completely burnt or destroyed will be started as soon as a report is submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of Imphal East District and the DC has also been instructed to submit the report at the earliest", he added.
Boby continued that the CM also assured them that a new outpost for State Force will be established near the CRPF camp in Ikou, Uyumpok Nongshum.
"The CM also said that a security meeting will be conducted tomorrow to discuss the dismantling of bunkers constructed by Kukis near Ikou, Yengkhuman and Uyumpok Nongshum", he added.
Boby further conveyed that as the CM has given the assurance to fulfil the demands of the people, the proposed movement has been suspended for the time being.
