FRPM condemns assault on KUM president

Imphal, August 07 2023: The Forum for Restoration of Peace in Manipur has condemned the recent assault on Kom Union Manipur (KUM) president Serto Ahao Kom by Kuki militants on 'baseless charges' .

In a statement, convenor of the forum Ashang Kasar said that they are appalled,dismayed and grieved by the brutal and inhuman assault on Serto Ahao Kom by Kuki militants.

Saying that the KUM president was beaten black and blue by Kuki gunmen and broke his left hand, he said that Serto Ahao Kom was admitted to RIMS with bruises on several parts on his body.

Appealing to all the people not to take law into their own hand, Ashang Kasar prayed for return of peace in Manipur.

He also urged the Kuki militants not to attack innocent civilians.
