Universal Mother Organisation (UMO) president, M Sorojini Leima appealed to all concerned to refrain from making unreasonable monetary demands to business establishments and private firms, schools and colleges in view of the ongoing crisis in the State.
She was speaking at a public convention held today at Wangoo Ima Tampha Lairembi Laibung jointly organised by UMO and World Meitei Organisation (WMO) .
She maintained that all should help one another and work for the enhancement of the economy which has been adversely impacted by the crisis in the State instead of putting burdens upon one another.
Sorojini also underscored the need of working together to resolve the ongoing communal crisis in the State, setting aside all forms of differences.
Stating that relentless attacks have been carried out to disintegrate the unity of the State ever since the outbreak of the tragic communal violence, Sorojini exhorted all to come under one roof and strive collectively for the common cause to safeguard the integrity and unity of the State and to promote the welfare of the indigenous people rather than working separately.
The public convention was also attended by World Human Rights Protection Organisation president, N Chingsanglakpa; World Meitei Organisation historian Leishangthem Sanayai; Senior Citizen Wangoo member S Nodiyachand; Wangoo Tera Awang Leikai Meira Paibi leader Ibecha Leima and Meira Paibi representatives from various places of
