Kakching, December 08 2023: A public sit-in demonstration was staged at Heirok Part- II Bazar Mamang Meira Shang condemning the brutal killing of 13 Meitei individuals on December 4 at Leithao village in Tengnoupal district.

The sit-in was jointly organised by Friends in Need Society (FINES), Heirok and Heirok Part II Bazar Mamang Apunba Meira Paibi.

The protestors demanded that the culprits involved in the inhumane killing of 13 unarmed Meitei individuals should be booked at the earliest and be awarded stringent punishments.

One of the protestor identified as Thokchom Ongbi Rashabati said, 'The 13 unarmed Meitei individuals were subjected to immense torture before getting killed' .

Expressing anguish over the inhumane incident, she urged the Government to take up immediate measures to nab the suspected Kuki terrorists who are behind these killings and award befitting punishment so as to deliver justice to the thirteen departed individuals who were killed mercilessly.
