ASI post for son of slain SDPO

The State Cabinet has decided to hold the 5th session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly from February 28, 2024 .
The State Cabinet also agreed on releasing 'liberalised pension' to the family of SDPO Chingtham Anandkumar who was shot dead by Kuki militants at Moreh.
Moreover, Anandkumar's son Chingtham Andry would be appointed as ASI in Manipur Police, the IPR Minister said.
It was also agreed to introduce and pass the State Commission for Women's Rule 2024 .
Briefing media persons at his Lamphel Sanakeithel residence today, IPR Minister Dr S Ranjan Singh said that the Assembly session would be opened with the Governor's address and the House would discuss the address later.

Ranjan informed that a Cabinet meeting was held this morning and it gave consent to the Manipur State Commission for Women's Rule 2024 .
The Cabinet also acknowledged the key roles taken by the State forces and commandos in containing the situation in the State.
As per a decision adopted by the State Cabinet, monthly compensatory allowance of Rs 5000 will be given to the Manipur commandos and Rs 3000 will be given to those (IRB and MR personnel) who are serving in difficult and vulnerable areas of the State, Dr S Ranjan said.
He informed that 'Name of Places Bill', a Bill on naming of places would be introduced in the forthcoming Assembly session.
Dr Ranjan said that the Business Advisory Committee would soon work out the number of days/sittings and other details of the session.

As decided at the Cabinet meeting, the 'Ex-Gratia cum Financial Assistance Scheme for Violence Affected People' would now encompass Army, Assam Rifles and CAPF personnel posted in Manipur.
An amount of Rs 18.91 crore would be distributed in the first phase to 3483 farmers who could not cultivate paddy last season due to the violent conflict.
The State Cabinet also agreed on appointment of 742 SSA teachers and staff under Education Department.
The State Cabinet also agreed to amend the Manipur Municipalities Act so as to facilitate systematic appointment of officials.
As per the amended Act, Health Officers, Engineers or Revenue Officers of any Panchayat would be appointed by Government.
The Cabinet meeting further decided to extend the service period of VDF by one more year from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2015 .
