1st Heibok T-20 Cricket Tournament CYCLONE set up final date with REYS

CYCLONE, Thangmeiband today secured a narrow 10 run victory against TRAU, Kwakeithel in the second semi final match of the ongoing 1st Heibok T-20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Langthabal Sporting Club under the aegis of Manipur Cricket Association at Langthabal Public Ground.
They will face REYS, Nagamapal in the summit clash on February 10 .
It was a very close competition for both teams relying on their bowling prowess which resulted into low scoring innings.
CYCLONE, Thangmeiband who opted to bat first managed to pile up 94 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 9 wickets.
Narshing recorded the highest score of 29 runs off 16 balls while Ronald scored 16 runs facing 23 balls.
Sourav contributed a total of 14 runs in 17 balls and helped CYCLONE set the target of 95 runs in the first inning.
Panday and Saroj of TRAU played a key role in restricting the strike rate of the Thangmeiband side with their three wicket hauls.
Pandey maintained a perfect economy offering just 6 runs in three overs while Saroj offered 8 runs in the 3 overs he was alloted.
TRAU who were expecting a positive turn had to leave disappointed as the bowlers of CYCLONE trapped them into a deep trouble.
TRAU fell down 10 run short to the target for all wickets down with one ball left to face.
Priyojit had a good start striking 27 runs in 39 balls while Abbas Ali who did well against YWC in the quarter final just made 10 runs today.
Biju who made 8 runs off 9 balls was the third highest scorer.
Homendro picked three wickets in this innings to help CYCLONE book a place in the final while Sourav and Rajesh claimed one wicket each.
Latter, Homendro was adjudged man of the match.
