Imphal, February 07 2018:
After thoroughly discussing the three incidents of bomb blasts which took place at different parts of the State capital, the State Government has decided to rope in NIA to investigate them, Chief Minister N Biren stated on the floor of the Manipur Legislative Assembly today.
Presenting a report on the bomb blasts at M Sector, Pologround and Minuthong transit camp of AR, Biren said the State Government was of the view that the State's law and order situation had improved remarkably but there have been successive bomb blasts at M Sector, Pologround and the AR transit camp.
"The DGAR was with me when bombs exploded at the AR transit camp.
Immediately, I went to the blast site and inspected it together with the DGAR", Biren said.
The transit camp is a secured area fortified with 10 feet high wall.
There are also four guard posts.
The bombs exploded about 130 feet inside the transit camp after crossing the 10-feet high wall.
As such there are certain doubtful areas, the Chief Minister remarked.
CCTV footages have been examined regarding the bomb blasts at Pologround but movement of people could not be seen, Biren informed the House.
Considering all these dubious areas, the State Government has contacted NIA and the matter has already reached the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Stating that he would place the investigation report before the public as soon as it is submitted by NIA, the Chief Minister condemned all the incidents of bomb blasts.
