Taekwondo training programme begins in Ham

Taekwondo which was one of the favourite game of Jiribam is returning to the region after a long time gap with the organisation of a taekwondo training programme by All Jiribam Taekwondo Association.
The training programme which aimed at reintroducing the game of taekwondo in the district, kicked off today at Jiri Keithel in the presence of H Nadiachand, president All Jiribam Taekwondo Association; M Brajakanta Singh, president Jiribam Olympic Association and Ch Ranjit Kumar Singh, secretary Jiribam Olympic Association as presidium members.
Altogether 20 players are taking part in this training programme.
Speaking on the occasion, M Brajakanta said that the game of Taekwondo was a very popular game in the region and had produced eminent players before.
Expressing happiness over organisation of the such training, Brajakanta noted that it will surely help revive the game in the region after a few years break and promised that Jiribam Olympic Association will extend all possible help to revive and redevelop one of the most revered fames.
The locals also expressed praised the initiative of All Jiribam Taekwondo Association for its pledge to bring back the game in the region.
