Mortal remains demanded

The Singjubung Youth Organization, Imphal, families of Gurumayum Jiteshore Sharma alias Gypsy and Thangjam Satish along with representatives of several CSOs submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister this evening following the adoption of a resolution at a "Public Discourse on Extrajudicial Execution of Gurumayum Jiteshore Sharma and Thangjam Satish" held at Singjubung Mandop, Nagamapal today.
The memorandum was submitted at around 6 pm today after police allowed five representatives from amongst the participants of a rally that came from Singjubung Mandop towards CM Secretariat.
The rally was said to have been prevented from proceeding further at BT Road near GM Hall.
Many CSO leaders including AMUCO president Deban, UCM vice president Athouba and Kanglamei leaders participated in the rally, among others.
The resolution adopted today was to place five demands before the State Government for urgent and immediate action.
The demands include handing over of the mortal remains of Gurumayum Jiteshore Sharma of Nagamapal Singjubung Leirak and Thangjam Satish of Sagolband Thangjam Leirak who were allegedly killed by 3 Corps, Intelligence and Surveillance Unit (CISU), Rangapahar, Dimapur of the Indian Army in their custody.
Investigation into the alleged cold blooded murders of Gurumayum -Jiteshore Sharma, Thangjam Satish, "Thounaojam Prem of Langol Laimanai, RK Ronel alias Roshan of Tera Sayang and Phijam Naobi of Thangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai by an agency like CBI or by constituting an independent Special Investigation Team (SIT) was also demanded.
Punishment of the Indian Army officials and other associates allegedly involved in the alleged cold blooded murders, particularly Nectar Sanjenbam, then Major of CISU and Major Rubina Kaur Keer of the 3rd Corps Intelligence Unit and her team for the alleged killings of Th Prem, RK Roshan and Phijam Naobi.
State Government should urge the Union Home Ministry to repeal AFSPA 1958 and take immediate action to fulfill the other demands, demanded the memorandum.
Chief Minister Biren reportedly assured that the State Government would extend every possible help to fulfil the demands of the CSOs.
