Imphal, June 30 2009:
After the allegation and suspension of Dr Ksh Birbal and P Raghumani from their respective post for two years, the two officials of AMFA submitted their resignation paper of their respective posts in the All Manipur Football Association today.
In a press meet held today, P Raghumani said that the mai cause of the state team's defeat in the 63rd Santosh Trophy against host Tamil Nadu in the quarter final league were the injuries of players and non participation of other good players of the state in the team.
State team coach, Dr Ksh Birbal blamed the AMFA's decision of excluding good players of the state who are in the probable list of AIFF while most of the players in the probable list of AIFF participated in their respective state's teams, as the main cause of the defeat.
It was informed to him that they are not including those state players as per instruction of AIFF to exclude its probable players from participating the championship.
But on knowing the participation of such players in other state's team, he had informed AMFA officials timely.
"Why did AIFF instructed AMFA to exclude its probable players when they allowed other states' players to participate?" Birbal exclaimed.
If AMFA tackles such situation like this, there would be no one to take the charge of team manager and coach of the state in future, he added.
