38th Tournament of PNTMP concludes

The 38th Tournament of the Paomata Students Union (PNTMP) which beagn on January 29 under the theme, "Vedziilouzii leshapulai" meaning Bridging to oneness at Liyai Khullen village under Senapati district concluded on February 4.The valedictory program of the tournament was graced by Solomon Arow, president, Naga People's Organisation as the chief guest, Kh Thailu Thomas, Officer on Special Duty (ODP), Dept Of Planning & Co-ordination, Govt of Nagaland as the guest of honour in the presence of Captain Tuffail, Paomata Post Commander, 34 Assam Rifles and Executives of the Poumai Naga Union.
Guest of honour, Thailu Thomas said that winners in everything are those who keep faith and trained themselves in the field and also asked the losers not to lose heart but try harder in future.
Pointing to the present youth, the guest of honour also asserted that true character of a person is revealed during play and the most important thing to learn is to be truthful of oneself.
He also asked the youth to stick to one's decision till success.
Thomas also asked the youth to think what to sacrifice for the betterment of the society.
Saying that opportunity comes only once in life, he asked the youth to grab the opportunity when there is time.
Speaking as the chief guest, Solomon Arow congratulated the organizers for making the event a successful one.
Under the theme, "Bridging to oneness," the chief guest questioned if one goes with live and cooperation or with hatred by coming together during this tournament.
The Naga People's Organisation president also asked the gathering to learn the good steps of the past leaders of the region and drawn the need to change in the fast changing world.
He also asserted that the rich, the strong and the educated could attained that far because they know how to maintain the time and asked the youth to maintain their precious time before one regrets later.
Saranamai team emerge champions in both Men's and Women's basketball while Tunggam bagged the runners up titles.
Tunggam bagged the men's volleyball title while Maiba finished runners up.
Phuba on the other hand defeated Tungam by 3-1 goals in the final tow claim the title.
Individuals awards in football includes golden ball won by Siilounii of (Phuba), golden boot by Reuben (Phuba ) with 7 Goals, Golden Glove by Kaipou (Phuba), Man of the Match L Adapou of (Tunggam).
Men's Volley ball best player title went to T Ngao of (Tunggam), Mens Basket ball best player went to Veikho Veinii (Saranamai) Highest scorer (49 points).
Kho Dashone of Saranamai was adjudged Women Volley best player while Solomon Thelerou with 17 points in her name emerged best player in women's basketball.
Executives of the Paomata Students Union (PNTMP) also extended heartiest gratitude to the 34 Assam Rifles, Maram post for providing necessary sports materials during the tournament.
