33rd Sub-Junior State Archery Championship begins

The 33rd Sub-Junior State Archery Championship being organised by Manipur Archery Association kicked off today at Langmeidong playground, Kakching district.
The two day championship will see archers from various units affiliated to Manipur Archery Association compete in the Indian Round, Recurve and Compound events.
The first day of the championship witnessed Sheetalkumari of NSA claim two gold medals, one in the individual and the other in the team Indian Round events for girls.
Sheetalkumari shot 661 points to win the Indian Round 30+30 m girls' individual event gold while N Baby Devi of KMAC and L Sophiya Devi of SAIRC secured 642 and 635 points respectively to finished second and third.
In the girls' Indian Round team event, Sheetal Kumari, H Alphabati, H Sandhyarani and L Rabina amassed 1911 points for NSA to finish first.
KMAC's Y Reshmi, M Baby, Vellenia Th and Y Anju scored 1827 to claim the second spot and BCAC's team comprising of W Shivala, Anju W, Kh Harimaya and Poireinganbi L were able to finish third with 1709 points.
L Nelson of NSA won the Indian Round 30+30 m individual boys title clinching 691 points two points ahead of second placed Sheityakumar Huidrom of KMAC.
L Yohenba of VAA was able to finish third in this competition by shooting 688 points.
In the Indian Round team event for boys, KMAC team which consist of K Action, Sheityakumar H, L.Boby and Ch Bison managed to top the event collecting 2025 points together.
Ch Borish, L Olen, Th Warjeet and O Sushil featuring for BCAC claimed the second spot with a total of 2005 points while NSA team comprising of L Nelson, L Yohenba, S Johnson and M Amarjeet finished third with 2004 points.
The competition will culminate on February 1 as there will be no event tomorrow owing to general strike.
