2nd Heibok T-20 Cricket : Sabir stars as KSDO hammer RRCC by 8 wickets

Sabir of KSDO, Kyamgei had a brilliant bowling performance as he picked up seven wickets to restrict RRCC, Churachandpur to a paltry score of 68 runs and helped his team post an emphatic 8-wicket victory in a Group C league match of the 2nd Heibok T-20 Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground today.
RRCC which won the toss and opted to bat first had their worst start to the tournament as Sabir ran riot across their batting line picking up 7 wickets alone in four overs.
With Elan the highest of 10 runs in 24 deliveries, RRCC gathered a total of 68 runs for all wickets down in 14.2 overs.
Nawaz and Wakib of KSDO also claimed one wicket apiece in this match.
KSDO reached the target in 10.3 overs as Lakimbur struck 24 in 35 balls and remained not out to steer his team to a comfortable win with 8 wickets left in the hand.
Abdul Rafique also got his name on the scoresheet adding 19 runs in 21 balls he faced in this innings.
As for RCC bowling, Thangkhupao was able to etch his name on the scoresheet for taking 1 wicket.
Eventually, Sabir was named man of the match.
The Group B league match played earlier in the morning was also a one sided one as MVCA hammered SU, Singjamei by 99 runs to register their first win in the tournament.
MVCA chose to bat first in this match and gathered a commanding 173 runs for 7 in 20 overs with Jodiba blazing 40 runs in 20 balls to become the highest scorer followed by sensible batting from Ibobi (26 off 16 balls) and Biboy (22 not-out).
Dijen and Tomar of SU picked up 2 wickets each while Kanao claimed a single in this innings before they were held to a meagre score in the second innings.
On the other hand, MVCA's Binoy and Jiten produced a fine bowling performance to dismiss four wickets each to see SU fall flat with a paltry 74 runs in 16 overs.
Binoy who did well in both batting and bowling was latter named as man of the match.
PTRC, Patsoi will meet KIYC, Kshetri Ml Mapal in the next match tomorrow at 9 am while TCMDC, Thongju will take on CRAU, Khamnam Bazar latter at 12.45 pm .
