Imphal, January 22 2019:
An individual identified as Th Nabachandra Singh of Naoremthong Khumanthem Leikai, has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister appealing him to take up necessary steps to cancel the notification issued by Imphal West Employment Exchange on January 10 regarding the appointment of 12 tutors for College of Nursing, under the State Health Department.
According to a reliable source, the memo submitted by Th Nabachandra to the CM yesterday reasoned that the notification issued by Imphal West Employment Exchange is against the rule and demanded the same to be cancelled so that the appointment can be done through MPSC instead.
The memo explained that the posts of Nursing College tutor has a grade pay scale of Rs 9300-34,800 plus grade pay Rs 4200 (pay band II) which implies that the post is similar to that of a Class II gazetted officer.
It informed that promotion to the post of Assistant Superintendent of Directorate of Printing and Stationery, which is similar to the said pay band of the tutors, is handled by MPSC.
Pointing out that the 12 tutor posts were newly created, the memo further explained that if the tutor posts are to be made regular, then the appointment should be done through open advertisements and the MPSC.
Alleging that such attempt on part of the Department to appoint the 12 tutors will harm the prospects of the students and aspiring candidates, the memo appealed the CM to take up necessary steps to ensure appointment to the said posts through the MPSC.
