AR organises friendly volleyball match

Imphal, October 15 2012:
The 27 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) organised a Friendly Volleyball match between troops of 27 Assam Rifles and Manipur Police state services volleyball team at Wabagai yesterday, according to a press release of PRO IGAR (S) .
A large number of enthusiastic spectators including various civil and Police dignitaries of Thoubal Districts were present to cheer-up the teams.
On the conclusion of an exhilarating match, MPS volleyball team won the match.
Prizes were distributed to the winning team and motivational prizes were given to the participants.
27 Assam Rifles, conveyed their appreciation for the active participation of the local youth in the event and also brought out that as sports are the best means of character building and encouraging team spirit, exhorted them to focus their energy towards creative and positive activities.
Such friendly matches aim at nurturing young talent and providing an avenue to the youth to exhibit their sporting prowess as well to generate an interest in sports among 'Gen Next', further stated the release.
