The only silver medalist is Ms Somiya Sajid from Uttarakhand in Junior Female 30 kg.
She reached to Semi Final and fought against Cynthia of Venezuela and lost to her.
She won Silver Medal.
Shami Konyak of Nagaland won Bronze in Senior Male 48 kg category.
He lost in the Semi Final to Wai LunYeung of Hong Kong and thus placed in third position.
Golmei Marempu Kabui from Manipur for the straight third time got again Bronze Medal.
He lost in Semi Final to Denys Buch of Ukraine in Junior Male 45 kg category.
Earlier in two World Championships in 2007 and 2008 at Bangkok and Busan (South Korea), he got Bronze Medals in both.
Sunil Vishwakarma of Uttarakhand also got Bronze Medal in Senior Male 54 kg after he was defeated in the semi Sinal by Assyl-bek Baltbay of Kazakhstan.
And Hemanth K Kumar of Karnataka in Senior Male 86 kg won Bronze Medal after losing in Semi Final to Thomas Alizer of France and placed him third position.
The other Indian fighters who reached Quarter Finals are Norem Boynao Singh of Manipur in Senior Male 54 kg category, Anshuman Behera of Orissa in Junior Male 71 kg and Meenakshi Adhikari of Uttarakhand in Senior Female 51 kg category.
Shanu Ahmed of Uttarakhand in Senior Male 57 kg category however failed to make in Preliminary Bout.
It may men mentioned that the 10-Member Indian Muaythai Team was led by Oken Jeet Sandham, President, Muaythai Federation of India (MFI).
He is also Vice Chairman of International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA), Safety Committee.

Oken Jeet Sandham-led Indian Muaythai Team has created history of sort for the first time in 20 years by getting five medals (four bronzes and one silver) in the just concluded World Muaythai Championship 2009 held from November 27to December 5, 2009 at The Mall Ngamwongwan, Bangkok.
This is the highest medals Indian Muaythai Team under his leadership received in a single World Muaythai Championship.
