The ten days HADO crafts fair which was started from November 29 last at Yaiskul Athletic Ground organized Help And Development Organisation (HADO) concluded today with an estimated sale proceed of Rs 40 lakh.
Organisation secretary of HADO, A Bimol speaking at the concluding function of the fair lamented over government failure to keep a place for holding fair even as many talented handicraft people coming out.
Due to lack of marketing facilities, they are facing problems in selling their products.
In the small state of Manipur many artistes are producing handicraft products with new designs.
The demand for these products is also increasing outside the state.
If these products can be export outside the state, it will help a lot in improving socio-economy of the state, he observed.
The state government is not providing any place which fairs can be held.
This creates problems while organising fairs, he added.
The concluding function was also attended by chairperson of the Manipur State Women Development Corporation, AK Meerabai as chief guest, chairperson of the Manipur State Social Welfare Board, RK Bidita as president and assistant director of development commissioner (handicraft) marketing and service extension centre, T rolly Vareidhim as guest of honour.
