Imphal, December 08 2009:
An eight-day long eco-craft exhibition, organised by the office of the Deveopment Commissioner (Handicraft), under the Union Ministry of Textile and Handicraft, was inaugurated at Public Library located at BT Road here.
Joint Director of Art and Culture department, W Sobita and designer of NID, Sukumar Haobam graced the inaugural function as the chief guest and president respectively.

The guest of honour were Assistant Director (H) of MSEC, Imphal, T Rolly Vareishim, Director of MUTUWA Museum, Padmashree N Nilamani, and Functional Manager of Directorate of Commerce and Industries, S Birendra.
In all, 15 stalls including four live demonstration stall, were opened in the exhibition.
Speaking on the occasion, W Sobita observed that the promotion of handicrafts arts in the state would boost up the economy of the state and give employment opportunity for many as well.
