Y Surendra's two saves in the crucial kick from penalty mark in the tie-breaker helped YOSC, Khurai defeat 7-5 and earned full points over YSWA, Utlou after both team remained locked at 2-2 at the end of normal time in the qualifying round of the 48th All India Sir Chu-rachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Invitation Football Tournament 2004 being played today at Mapal Kangjeinbung.
For YOSC, N Itocha, Ng Naoba, N Sanjoy, Poireingamba and Th Gopen find their marks in the penalty shoot-out while the main culprit for YSWA are K Herojit and K Rocky Kabui after their attempt at the goal was saved by YOSC goalkeeper Y Surendra.
YSWA open their account as early as 2nd minute of the match when K Herojit converted a direct kick into a goal after it was awarded a direct kick for foul by YOSC defender at the top of the penalty box.
The search for equaliser came late as YOSC failed to find the mark during the first half.
YOSC finally levelled the score in the 54th minute of second half when India school player N Itocha romp home the ball through a direct kick.
In the 74th minute N Itocha added one more goal to his tally in a similar fashion like his previous goal from a direct goal.
The equaliser came 7 minute later through a header by Th Beshwachandra from a corner kick taken by Herojit.
