The week-long 55th Adventure Course of Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association (MMTA) began at its Lamdan Adventure Park today with Commanding Officer of 15 JK Light Infantry Col JS Budhwar gracing the inaugural function as the chief guest.
The course is being held under the sponsorship of Leimakhong headquartered 57 Mountain Division.
Including adventure sports enthusiasts from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh States 56 climbers are taking part in the course.
Speaking during the inaugural session, president of MMTA N Ibungochoubi highlighted that main objective of organising the course is to uphold spirit of brotherhood and hone leadership quality among the participants and recollected similar courses/camps conducted at various location of the State in the 25 years of MMTA's existence.
In his address, Col Budhwar exclaimed that successful conduct of such programmes is a unique distinction of the Mountain Division and conveyed that within the next two months three such camps/course would be organised with the spirit of sustaining adventure sports activities.
