As part of its social responsibility to the people of the State, the Indian Oil Corporation, Assam Oil Division has donated an ambulance to State Blood Transfusion Council today.
In a impressive function held at the conference hall of Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MACS), VK Sharma, Executive Director of IOC who had come down to Imphal especially for this noble gesture handed over the keys and registration papers of a Maruti Van to Dr Kh Pramodkumar Singh, Chairman State Blood Transfusion Council (SBTC) and Project Director MACS.
VK Sharma during his short speech said that the aid was extended as part of its social responsibility to the people of Manipur and expressed optimism that the ambulance will help in collection of blood units from every nook and corner of the State.
He added that with the help of the ambulance the SBTC will work for increasing the volume of blood unit collection through various camps and campaign.
Dr Kh Pramodkumar who presided the function highlighted the present trend of blood unit collection in the State and expressed high hopes that the ambulance will go a long way in fulfilling the needs of SBTC while collecting bloods.
