MUSA, Majorkhul and FC Imphal, Kwakeithel cruised into the semi-finals of the ongoing 1st RKFD Sangai Trophy held under the auspices of All Manipur United Veteran Football Association.
In today's first quarter final encounter, MUSA, Majorkhul romped to a 3-0 win over VSAI-A, Thangmeiband.
In the one-sided match dominated by MUSA, T Siehlam handed the lead to the Majorkhul veterans as he struck home the opener in the 13th minute.
The two sides went to the break with MUSA taking a 1-0 lead.
Even as both sides pressed hard to alter the score line in the second half, none of the team could easily breach each others' defence line.
However, Ch Ingobi of MUSA struck one goal to double the lead in the 55th minute.
Just few minutes before the end of the regulation time, Cheitei of MUSA was bang on target to seal an easy victory for his team.
VSAI-A forwards were prevented from creating any chance by their rivals' defenders.
Another quarter final encounter of the day saw FC Imphal, Kwakeithel edging past NCDA, Khonghampat by a margin of one goal to nil.
The two teams played a thrilling match right from the first whistle.
However, none of the teams could break the deadlock in the first half.
After the barren first half, the two sides bounced back with more vigour trying to create chances and outwit each other.
FC Imphal veterans were able to make a breakthrough after frenetic efforts as Th Krishna found their opponents' net through a brilliant pass from A Dilip in the 35th minute.
Interestingly, NCDA refused to continue the match from the 38th minute protesting the decision of the referee who awarded a penalty kick against them.
FC Imphal's striker L Surchandra was brought down by NCDA defender K Inaocha into the goal area.
The referee was quick to point the penalty mark which invited strong protest from NCDA veterans resulting in the abrupt end of the match.
