Imphal, May 18 2017:
Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI) and Student Nurses Association (SNA), Manipur State Branch organised International Nurses Week celebration at RIMS Jubilee hall today, under the theme A Voice to Lead- Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Speaking as the chief guest, Agriculture Minister V Hangkhanlian said that nurses are the pillars of health care adding that doctors alone cannot operate the health care sector.

Parliamentary Secretary Soibam Subhaschandra Singh stressed that the problems and inconveniences faced by people residing in remote corners of the State can be relieved if proper steps are taken to provide adequate number of nurses and doctors and health care services.
Speaking at the event, former Deputy Nursing Superintendent, RIMS, Ng Binodini Devi explained the importance of cooperation and coordination in the duties taken up by the nurses.
Prizes for sporting events were also distributed at the event.
