Bona clinches 35+ singles title at Sr Tennis tourney

Imphal, June 11 2019:
Bona held off Tuleshwor second title run at the 2nd Manipur Senior Tennis Tournament 2019 by beating the latter 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 and fetched the above 35 years singles title.
It may be noted that Tuleshwor claimed the above 45 years men's singles title beating Daichilung comfortably at Lamphel yesterday.
N Dilip on the other hand had a easy walk to claim the above 55 years singles title as he beat L Sharat 6-3, 6-0 in the final.
Winners and runners up of the singles competitions were feted with Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,500 respectively.
Semi-finallists and quarter finallists were also feted respectively with Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 each.

Doubles
The doubles title for above 35 years went to Ibohal and Suraj who carved out a 7-6 (11-9), 4-6, 12-10 against Rupam and Bona in a keenly contested final clash today.
Dilip and Daichilung claimed the combined 90+ years competition beating the pair of Kopichou and Manikanta 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) while Ranjit and Tomba claimed the combined 110+ title as the pair cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win against Indrakumar and Prakash pair in the final staged today.
Naopak-Birla and Tuleshwor T-Sanatomba H who made it to the above 35 years doubles semis; Romeo A - Sanatomba H and Th Rakesh - Th Ibohal who made it to the combined 90+ event and Sarat L-Iboyaima and Ibotombi H - Laxmibanta pairs who reached the combined 110+ were feted with Rs 1,000 each as the winners and runners up received Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,500 respectively.
Quarter finallist pairs of all the doubles events also received a cash prize of Rs 600 each.
The closing cum valedictory function of the tournament organised by Imphal District Tennis Association (IDTA) and Association of Senior Tennis Players Manipur under the aegis of Manipur Tennis Association at IDTA Complex was attended by Minister Works, Th Biswajit; H Ibotombi Singh, vice president Manipur Tennis Association; A Biren Singh, president of Senior Tennis Players Manipur and K Ramkumar, president, IDTA as presidium members who also feted the participants of various events.
