Manipur girls team stormed into the hockey competition semi finals of the 53rd National School Games Meet with a 12-0 thrashing of Karnataka at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium today.
Memtombi led the goal feast with five, as Geetarani sounded the opponents' board on three occasions followed by H Bisolata's brace and one each from NM Leelelsana and L Bijeta.
In other quarter final matches played today, Uttar Pradesh humbled Punjab 7-0, Haryana edged past Delhi 4-1 and Maharashtra outclassed Chhattisgarh 6-1 to join the hosts in the last four stage of the 15 team/State competition.
In the under-14 boys' competition, Chhattisgarh blanked Goa 5-0, Punjab pummeled Andhra Pradesh 9-0, Haryana routed Tamil Nadu 7-0, UP unstaged Uttarakhand 3-0, Chandigarh whipped Karnataka 7-2, Delhi outplayed Maharashtra 3-0 and Madhya Pradesh was awarded maximum points and three goal after Rajasthan players staged walked-out.
In archery competition of the meet, the hosts bulged its kitty with the addition 10 gold, two silver and seven bronze medals today.
At the end of the fourth day today, State's medal haul has gone up to 30 gold.
Events topped by State archers today include the 60 metre, 50 mtr and individual overall in girls under-14 FITA Recurve category; 60 mtr, 40 mtr, individual overall and team event in the boys' group; and above-14 boys FITA Recurve.
