Imphal, January 10:
While appreciating the appeals of the UNLF and the UKLF to refrain from targeting civilians, the KLO/KLA has clarified that it never spoke of targeting or threatening civilians.
A statement issued by KLO/KLA information and publicity secretary Malsawm Kuki reiterated that the Tangkhul Hundung case of September 3, 2007 has been handed over to social organisations with full authority.
Moreover, in connection with the Tangkhul Hundung incident a fact finding team was also constituted for restoration of peace and justice, it informed adding that the probe is making good progress.
It also confided that the case will be concluded soon in accordance to customary laws.
The KLO/KLA further denied any relation between the outfit and Letsei alias Seiboi alias Timothy Hanghal.
It maintained that Letsei, Seithang alias Robinson Khongsai and Milan alias Jack alias Boi Meitei are just a gang extorting money from the public and Government Depart ments thereby maligning the image of the organisation.
At present, the KLO/KLA is being administered by Hangsai kuki as convenor and Malsawm Kuki as finance and publicity respectively.
The KLO/KLA also offered revolutionary salute to its cadres slain by NSCN (IM) at Tangkhul Hundung on September 3 last year.
