Imphal, January 10:
The State Cabinet has decided to anull its earlier decision and instead start the Budget session from February 1.The decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting convened by the Chief Minister prior to his departure for New Delhi today morning.
Earlier, the Cabinet had decided to start the session from February 20 but this was reviewed after some procedural flaws were detected and the starting date was fixed on February 1.According to sources, the Governor's address will be delivered on February 1 and the House will be adjourned after this.
The session may then be held from February 14 or 15 and the Budget for the 2008-09 fiscal may be presented on the floor of the House.
Significantly, though the date of the Budget session has been decided, the Government is yet to start any preparation for the Budget.
