YOSC, Khurai winded up its campaign in the Moirangthem Ibobi Singh memorial Division I football league tournament for Imphal East district with a 6-1 demolition of UPAA, Andro at Khabeisoi ground today.
In the other match of the day, YDC, Potshangbam edged past AAYCA, Andro 3-2 to finish third in the competition.
The convincing win margin for YOSC guaranteed the Khurai outfit's promotion to the district's higher division league next season as they ended its engagements in the Division I competition with a points tally of 19.ABA, Kshetrigao secured second position on 13 points in the eight competition out of which UPAA managed only four points and have been demoted to a lower division.
Despite being placed comfortably in the points scale, YOSC started the match with Sanjoy opening the score within two minutes of play.
Even though UPAA seemed to put up a brace fight with an equaliser in the 10th minute, the champion side restored its one goal advantage when Itocha ruffled the Andro net in the 23rd.Thereafter, L Romen took centre-stage striking three goals on the trot with his first coming in the 37th followed by the second in the 57th minute and completing his personal feat with a 65th minute strike.
U Sanjit completed the UPAA demolition three minutes later.
Earlier in the first ground match, M Tomba (2nd) and Md Amir (47th, 63rd) provided the YDC goals against AAYCA as the latter's Shyamkumar (49th) and Roshan (70th) staged the failed Andro fight-back.
