On charges of outraging modesty and threatening of a girl, the Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal has issued bailable warrant of arrest against a rifleman of 2 MR and his wife for allegedly abusing the victim.
According to the criminal complaint filed by the victim girl of Imphal West, the accused rifleman currently attached to 5 MR is identified as M Dharmendra of Phubala Makha Leikai.
Although, Dharmendra was a married man, he masqueraded as a bachelor and courted the girl in 2003 and had physical relations with her, said the complainant.
She disclosed that the accused also forced her to under abortion as she became pregnant.
Acting as if he was a bachelor, Dharmendra deceived the girl and persuaded her to elope with him this year.
It was only then that she came to know the fact that the accused rifleman was a married man, the alleged victim said.
She said that at his (Dharmendra's) home, she was tortured physically and mentally by the accused and his first wife.
Unable to bear the harsh treatment, she returned to his parental home, she added.
Even at Imphal, the accused and his (first) wife physically assaulted and abused her in front of the public, alleged the complainant adding that such abuses and ill-treatment prompted her to file the criminal complaint.
After hearing the complaint, the Court issued the bailable warrant of arrest against rifleman Dharmendra on September 6 under IPC Section 354 (outraging the modesty of woman) and IPC Section 506 ( criminal intimidation) making it returnable by September 28.
