State Invitation Boxing : Ningthoujam Menaka takes youth and elite women's 69 kg crown

Ningthoujam Menaka cornered Ningthoujam Surjalata Devi to win the youth and elite women's 69 kg crown today at the 1st Manipur State Invitation Boxing Championship 2020 being organised by Manipur Amateur Boxing Association at Boxing Ring Khuman Lampak.

Tingmila Doungel on the other hand earned the youth and elite women's 48 kg title by beating Grace Yumnam in the final today while Soibam Binita Chanu fetched the 64 kg crown by beating Tingneilhing Chongloi in the final.
Sub-Junior Girls
Laishram Sushibala Devi came on top of Neijalam Haokip for the sub-junior girls' (2008) 43 kg title while Laishom Phoniya Devi bagged the sub-junior girls' (2006-2007) 40 kg event gold medal by beating Kimhoinei Telen in the final today.
Dikila Lepcha earned the sub-junior girls' (2006-2007) 43 kg event gold medal as she beat Ningthoujam Ancika in the final today while Elangbam Thoicha defeated Esther L Baite to win the 46 kg event gold.
The 49 kg title went to Mayengbam Sagar Chanu who came on top of Telen Chongneilhing Kom today in the final.
Sub-junior girls' (2006-2007) 52 kg gold medal on the other hand was fetched by Sanabam Surmala Chanu who defeated Tongbram Sophia Chanu.
Sub-Junior Boys
Thokchom Nikhil Singh collected the sub-junior boy's (2008) 31 kg gold medal as he downed Thingom Rishi in the final today while the 33 kg gold medal went to Ch Naoba Singh who beat Pukhrambam Lamnganba Singh in the final.
Maibam Jet bagged the 37 kg crown after beating Thoubam Maibam as Thaimei Jackson won the 40 kg gold medal beating Serto Sairenchung Kom in the final bout.
Rajkumar Yumkhaibam then fetched the 43 kg gold medal by defeated Shel Asem Moirangcha.
In the sub-junior boy's (2006-2007) 35 kg final bout, PS Mashungchui got the better of Nongmaithem Nelson Singh to win the gold medal while Takhelambam Amarjit Singh defeated Kh Bidyananda Singh for the 37 kg crown.
Md Mujahid then claimed the 40 kg gold medal beating Pukhrambam Bikcy Singh in the final today.
Khwairakpam Danyson Meitei collected the sub-junior boy's (2006-2007) 43 kg title as he beat Md Miraj in the final today as Ngariyanbam Jupiter bagged the 46 kg gold medal beating Takhellambam Khambaton.
Semi-final bouts
The day also saw completion of final line up of various weight categories of youth and elite men.
Boychard Baite defeated Khaidem Malemnganba Singh to set up final date of the youth and elite men's (1980-2003) 60 kg event with Kaminthang Kipgen who outlasted Mandengbam Robinson Singh in another semi-final clash.
Myson Moirangthem also boxed his way to the 64 kg final beating Lairenmayum Nikesh Singh and will meet Ningthoujam Khambaton who saw off Angom Rakesh Singh, in the final.
Meanwhile Angouton Nongmaithem will face off with Ningthoujam Boinao in the 69 kg final.
Angouton sealed his place in the final by beating Aheibam Ronaldo Singh in the first semi-final match today before Boinao dumped Ngangom Sunil Singh in another semi-final match.
Khoinaijam Sanamacha (75 kg) and Yengkhom Sanamacha (81 kg) were also seen making their way to the finals.
