Session Judge, Imphal West today framed charges against one Khulem Jiten in connection with the murder of his uncle Khulem Tomba of Langol Punshi Leikai, on July 27, 2018 .
On the other hand, the Court acquitted another individual, Chesam Abdul Salam, from the case.
The charge order was announced today after it was kept reserved from January 18 .
As the Court framed charges against him, Khulem Jiten pleaded that he was innocent.
As such, the Court fixed February 13 for hearing of the prosecution witnesses before remanding Jiten to judicial custody.
On the other hand, the APP of the State contended that the alleged co-accused Chesam Abdul Salam could be used as a witness to help the prosecution if he is willing to give evidence and as such, prayed for discharging him from the case.
Considering the proposition, the Court allowed the prayer of the APP and discharged Md Abdul Salam alias Ibungo.
It may be mentioned that Khulem Jiten allegedly murdered his uncle, Khulem Tomba, on July 27, 2018 .
Jiten was on bail at that time in connection with a previous case of murdering another one of his uncles, Khulem Krishnamohan and injuring another Khulem Priyobarta, on July 30, 2015, for which Session Court Imphal West had sentenced him to life imprisonment on September 20, 2018 .
