Renaming of Kangla Fort

In its general body meeting held at BCC building, Keishampat today, Kangla Khunthokyai Apul Luplel (KAKHAL) has proposed renaming of Kangla Fort as Kangla Laiphamlen.
According to a statement issued by Publicity Secretary of KAKHAL Okram Unbi Leima, the general body meeting presided over jointly by 'Luchingpurel' of KAKHAL Soubam Erikkomba and 'Ngamthang' Nepram Nungkaba (Bihari) also adopted various other resolutions pertaining to the holy place.
These include stopping the ticket system at the gate of Kangla for entry, compulsory traditional dress code (Mayek Naiba/Mapal Naiba/Pheijom) for all visitors; opening of all the gates of Kangla and removal of all other structures not related to Kangla from the Laiphamlen, the statement added.
