Imphal, August 11, 2013:
Ahead of Independence Day and after a bomb exploded at the western gate of the CM's bungalow yesterday, security measures have been further strengthened in Imphal city and surrounding areas of Raj Bhavan and the CM's bungalow.
The proscribed PREPAK (Pro) had claimed responsibility for the bomb blast at the gate of the Chief Minister's official bungalow.
Following yesterday's bomb explosion, strength of security forces deployed in and around the CM's bungalow has been enhanced.
Moreover, security forces have been deployed thickly in all major roads and streets of Imphal city.
Mobile frisking and checking of people by policemen were seen on these roads.
Some of them were heard shouting to bikers who failed to respond to their signal to halt if they should open fire.
There is however no report of any arrest made in connection with yesterday's blast.
