Imphal, July 24 2021:
Farmers across the state have expressed their frustrations over the act of some ministers and MLAs hoarding fertilisers in their respective residences, instead of distributing them to the farmers.
According to a statement released by CPI Manipur State Council assistant secretary M Joy, agriculture offices have stopped distributing the fertilisers despite the claims made by agriculture minister O Luk-hoi that there is no shortage of the same.
Left with no choice, farmers have to purchase the fertilisers from traders at the rate of Rs 800 per bag.
As such, he urged the Chief Minister to look into the matter and mitigate the suffering of the farmers.
