Monkey rescued

Imphal, September 08 2014:
A police team led by WSI Okram Chaoba Devi today rescued a monkey and it was handed over to PFA team.
According to statement issued by the PFA, the monkey has been reportedly feeding on the cucumber and beans farm run by Kangleipak Economic development Organisation (KEDO) near the river bank in Lilong.
Farmers of KEDO and residents of Lilong today caught the monkey near Lilong bridge.
The animal was then rescued by WSI Chaoba and taken to the police station.
After the animal was handed over to the PFA team by WSI Chaoba, the team took the animal to the State Zoological Garden, Iroisemba.
The monkey would be released into the wild along with three other monkeys, the statement added.
