Imphal, August 19 2013:
The Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) has refuted the report that 13 of its cadres had surrendered to the NSCN as reported.
A statement issued by the Dy Info and Publicity secretary of MNPF, Thomas Numai said the cadres did not desert the outfit but they were terminated from the outfit for failing to abide by the rules and regulations of the organisation.
It clarified that the cadres were not forced to join the outfit nor lured with jobs providence; they joined the outfit on their own will.
Had the said cadres deserted the outfit, they should have surrendered along with arms.
Hence, it is clear that they are terminated.
Claiming that the MNPF is a revolutionary group with set goals and objectives, the outfit also expressed surprise on what ground the NSCN-IM had accepted the terminated cadres.
Castigating the NSCN (IM), it added that it is high time the Naga public understand the motives of NSCN (IM) and face the truth and fight for their rights.
