Gardeners' skill training begins

Ukhrul, October 25 2017:
A gardeners’ skill training for the farmers of Ukhrul and Senepati district began today at KVK training hall, Hungpung Ukhrul .
Assistant Commissioner , Ukhrul, Shamin Ahmed Shah, who attended as chief guest of the function spoke about the potential of hill districts of Manipur, particularly Ukhrul, in producing flowers and vegetables for commercial purposes .
In order to enhance and improve the skills of the gardeners through latest technologies is the need of the hour, he asserted .
Speaking about the various aspects of the training programme, Senior Scientist of KVK, Ukhrul, Dr Y Ramakrishna said that it will emphasize from pre soil-evaluation knowledge test to marketing prospects .
SMS, Ukhrul, M Priyokumar, Solei Luiram and Dr L Loken Singh also took part in the programme.
Altogether 16 gardeners from different parts of Ukhrul and Senepati district registered for the training programme .
The programme was organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ukhrul ICAR Research complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre under the sponsorship of Mission for integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Manipur.
